The medicine belongs to the group of antiandrogens. Antiandrogens suppress the action of androgens (male sex hormones).
It applies to
in adult men for the treatment of non-metastatic prostate cancer when surgical castration or other forms of treatment are not indicated or unacceptable.
It can be used in combination with radiation therapy or prostate surgery in the early stages of treatment.
The drug cannot be taken
if you are allergic to bicalutamide or any other ingredient of this medicine.
if you are taking certain medicines containing terfenadine, astemizole or cisapride
if you are a woman or a child.
Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the recommended dose is:
1 film-coated tablet, once a day.
Use in children and adolescents.
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age are prohibited from taking the product.
If you took more than you should
If you take too many film-coated tablets, or if a child accidentally takes the film-coated tablets, call your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Bring the package insert and some film-coated tablets with you so your doctor can tell you which medicine you are taking.
If you forget to take it
If you forget to take the film-coated tablet, skip that dose and do not take it again. Wait until the next correct dosing time is reached, and then continue to take regularly as before according to your regular dosing schedule.
Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.
If you stop taking it
Do not stop taking the film-coated tablets, even if you feel completely healthy, unless your doctor tells you to do so.
