Composition:
1 ml of squeezed juice from 2.0 mg of herb mistletoe tree – the owner of the ash tree;
sodium monohydrogen phosphate;
vitamin C;
water for injections.
The manufacturer produces various forms of the drug with an extract of mistletoe growing on trees such as ash, apple, pine, maple, etc.
Abnoba Viscum is an anthroposophic preparation:
for the treatment of malignant or benign tumors of all kinds;
for the treatment of leukemia and other oncological diseases of the hematopoietic system;
postoperative relapse prevention.
It is used as maintenance therapy during chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or after surgery. The drug stimulates the body’s immune system, helping it fight the disease. In addition, mistletoe extract promotes the release of endorphins, which have an analgesic effect.
According to the results of a meta-analysis of clinical studies, maintenance therapy with Abnoba-Viscum in some cases has a small positive effect. In this case, the drug practically does not cause side effects and is well tolerated.
What is anthroposophic medicine
Anthroposophic medicine perceives illness as an opportunity for spiritual perfection of a person. Treatment in this case should be comprehensive, and in addition to traditional medicine, it includes the use of homeopathic medicines, movement therapy (eurythmy), and psychological consultations.
Contraindications
acute inflammatory diseases with a temperature above 38 ° C;
mistletoe allergy;
chronic granulomatous or autoimmune diseases;
hyperthyroidism with palpitations.
The safety of the use of Abnoba Viscum for the treatment of pregnant or lactating women has not been studied. The effect of the drug on young children is also unknown.
In such cases, the medicine should be used only at the discretion of an experienced attending physician.
Ability to drive a vehicle
The effect of the drug on the ability to drive a car or complex mechanisms is unknown. With normal tolerability of the drug, driving a car is allowed.
Interactions with other drugs
The drug does not interact with other drugs. However, tell your doctor about all medications you are taking.
How the drug is used
The drug is administered by subcutaneous injection into the area of the body near the tumor. In this case, it is recommended to inject the drug each time into different areas of the body (abdomen, buttocks, thighs).
It is recommended to start treatment with the use of 1 ml ampoules at a concentration of 0.02 mg three times a week. Depending on the patient’s response, the dose is gradually increased to the optimum.
On the day of the injection, the patient may experience chills, fatigue, or headache. These reactions resolve by the next day and are not considered dangerous. If they persist even a day or two after the injection, then it is necessary to reduce the dose of the drug.
Determination of the optimal dose
The optimal dose is the dose at which the patient receives one of the following reactions:
Improving the physical and psychological state of the patient (normalization of appetite and sleep, etc.).
Temperature reaction: temperature increase immediately after injection or restoration of the physiological difference in morning / evening temperature, at least 0.5 ° C;
Local inflammatory reaction (no more than 5 cm in diameter);
Immunological reaction (change in the level of blood cells).
If the drug does not work
If no reaction to the drug occurs, it is recommended to change the frequency of injections or the dosage of the drug. It is also possible to move to Abnoba-Viskum of another host tree (pines, apple trees, etc.).
Side effects
The most common side effects are mild fever and mild inflammation at the injection site.
If the patient has a fever (fever, headaches, fatigue) after the injection, which lasts for several days, it is necessary to wait for the complete disappearance of these symptoms, and also reduce the dose of the medicine.
Other possible side effects:
allergic reactions;
exacerbation of inflammatory diseases at the injection site;
in rare cases, granulomatous or autoimmune inflammatory diseases.
