Indication:
The medicine contains the active ingredient cyproterone acetate.
It is an antiandrogen. It inhibits the action of male sex hormones (androgens), which are also produced to a small extent by the female body. It also has a gestagenic and antigonadotropic effect.
In men, treatment with the drug reduces libido and potency, the function of the gonads is inhibited; these changes disappear again after discontinuation of use.
The drug protects androgen-dependent organs of success, such as: B. prostate, against androgens coming from the gonads and (or) the adrenal cortex.
In women, abnormal growth of body hair is reduced, as well as androgenic loss of scalp hair and the increased activity of the sebaceous glands is reduced. During treatment, ovarian function is inhibited.
