The drug is a continuous combined hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medication that is taken daily without interruption. The medicine is suitable for women whose last menstruation was at least 1 year ago.
The tablets contain 2 hormones: 2 mg of estradiol (an estrogen identical to estradiol produced in the ovaries) and 1 mg of norethisterone acetate (a progestin that acts similarly to the body’s own progesterone (luteal hormone).
The medicine is applied.
to relieve symptoms after menopause
During menopause, a woman’s production of her own estrogen decreases. This can cause symptoms such as hot flashes in the face, neck, and chest (called hot flashes). The drug relieves these symptoms that occur after menopause. You will only be prescribed medication if your symptoms significantly affect your daily life.
to prevent osteoporosis (bone loss)
Some women develop brittle bones (osteoporosis) after their last period. You should discuss all available treatment options with your doctor.
If you are at high risk of bone fractures due to osteoporosis and cannot tolerate or cannot use other drugs used for this purpose, you can use the drug to prevent osteoporosis after menopause.
The medicine is used in women who still have a uterus and whose menopause (last menstruation) occurred more than 1 year ago.
