Progestogel Gel 10 mg 80 g (Progesteron)

The medicine contains a gestagen (sex hormone) and is used to treat hormonally caused problems with the mammary gland in women before menstruation without changes in breast tissue (essential premenstrual mastodynia).
The medicine cannot be used
if you have an existing or previously developed hormone-dependent tumor (for example, progesterone-positive breast cancer) or a corresponding suspicion of it,
if you are allergic to progesterone or any other ingredient of this medicine.
Always use this medication exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is
Typically, from days 10 to 25 of the cycle, 2.5 g of gel (25 mg of progesterone) is applied to each breast once a day using the supplied dispenser.
Duration of use
The medicine can also be used repeatedly and for a longer period of time, in consultation with the doctor, on the indicated days of the cycle. A medical examination should be carried out at least once every 3 months.
If you used more than you should
If the medicine, e.g. B. by children, if ingested in large quantities, serious symptoms of poisoning should not be expected. However, symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting may occur. However, to be on the safe side, you should always notify your doctor.
If you accidentally use the medication more than once a day for a short period of time, you should not expect unwanted side effects. In this case, reduce use to the intended dose and otherwise adhere to the treatment plan.
If you forgot to use it
Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous use.
If you do not use it for a longer period of time, talk to your doctor about whether you need to extend the duration of treatment.
If you cancel your application
If your symptoms improve markedly, be sure to end treatment or continue it as agreed with your doctor, otherwise you can expect a return of symptoms. If you still want to interrupt treatment or stop it prematurely, for example due to side effects, discuss this with your doctor.
