indication
The medicine is used to control various types of epileptic seizures.
It is used along with your current medication to treat “hard-to-control” epileptic seizures. Initially, he is appointed as a specialist. Your response to treatment will be monitored.
It is also used to control seizures in young children (West syndrome).
contraindication
The drug should not be taken
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to vigabatrin or any of the other ingredients.
Dosage of Sabril
It is important that you carefully follow your doctor’s instructions. Never change the dose yourself.
The doctor prescribes the dosage and adjusts it for each patient individually.
The usual starting dose for adults is 2 tablets daily. However, your doctor may increase or decrease your dose depending on your response; the usual daily dose for adults is 2 to 3 g (4 to 6 tablets). The maximum recommended dose is 3 g/day.
The physician may also prescribe a lower dose for elderly patients and/or patients with impaired renal function.
For children, the dose depends on age and weight. The usual starting dose for children is 40 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day. The table below shows the number of tablets to give to children based on their body weight.
Please note that this is only a recommendation. The child’s doctor may change the dosage slightly.

The recommended starting dose for infants with West syndrome (convulsions in infants) is 50 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day; however, higher doses may be administered in some cases.
The daily dose can be taken once or divided into two doses.
If you take more than you should
If you or your child accidentally takes too many pills, tell your doctor right away, go to the nearest clinic, or go to a poison control center.
Possible signs of overdose may also include drowsiness or loss/decreased level of consciousness.
If you forget to take a dose
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, take that one dose only.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop taking it
You should not interrupt or prematurely stop treatment with this medicine without a doctor’s prescription. If your doctor decides to stop your treatment, you will gradually reduce your dose. Do not stop treatment suddenly, as this may lead to the recurrence of seizures.

The drug can be found in breast milk. Therefore, it is recommended not to breastfeed during treatment.

When taken with other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are available without a prescription.
The drug should not be taken in combination with other drugs that can cause side effects in the eyes.
