indication
This medicine contains the active ingredient dasatinib. This medicine is used to treat leukemia in adults, adolescents, and children over 1 year of age with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Leukemia is a cancer of the white blood cells. These white blood cells usually help the body fight infections. In people with chronic myeloid leukemia, white blood cells, also called granulocytes, begin to grow out of control. The medicine inhibits the growth of these leukemic cells.
The drug is used to treat acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) with the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph +) in adults, adolescents and children from 1 year. It is also used in adults with CML for lymphocytic blast crisis who are not responding to previous therapy. White blood cells, also called lymphocytes, multiply too quickly and live too long in people with ALL. The medicine inhibits the growth of these leukemic cells.
