Composition
The active substances are: o codeine phosphate hemihydrate o sulfogwaacol
1 tablet contains 15 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate and 300 mg of sulphoquaiacol.
The other ingredients are: talc, potato starch, and magnesium stearate.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 tablet 3 times a day, not more frequently than every 4 to 6 hours.
The drug should be taken orally with meals. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
You should drink at least 2 liters of fluid during the day. This will make it easier for you to cough up the mucus.
Action
Thiocodin tablets contain two active substances: codeine phosphate hemihydrate and sulfowaacol. Codeine phosphate hemihydrate has an antitussive effect, inhibits the cough reflex, reducing the frequency of coughing attacks. Sulfogwaacol acts as an expectorant, facilitates the movement of the liquefied secretion in the respiratory tract and its expectoration. Thiocodin tablets are for oral use only.
