The active ingredient is a synthetic thyroid hormone. A healthy thyroid gland in the human body produces two hormones that are important for metabolism. One is called levothyroxineor T4 and is a specific “depot”. If necessary, another, truly effective form is produced from it, the so-called liothyronineor T3.
Thyroid hormones are crucial for normal metabolism in the human body. If the body itself does not produce them in sufficient quantities, they must be taken regularly.
