Description
Trulicity contains the active ingredient dulaglutide and is used to lower blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
The writing
The active substance is dulaglutide.
Each pre-filled pen contains 3 mg of dulaglutide in 0.5 ml of solution.
Excipients: sodium citrate, anhydrous citric acid, mannitol, polysorbate 80, water for injection.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Trulicity is intended for subcutaneous injection into the abdominal wall, thigh or upper arm. The drug should not be administered intravenously or intramuscularly. The dose can be administered at any time of the day, regardless of the meal.
The dosage is determined by the doctor individually for the patient.
If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible, leaving at least 3 days (72 hours) before the scheduled date of the next injection. If your next injection is due in less than 3 days (72 hours), the missed dose should be skipped and the next injection should be given on the scheduled date. In either case, patients may then resume their usual weekly dosing regimen.

Trulicity lowers blood glucose levels.
Indications
Trulicity is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy or in combination with other diabetes medications.
Contraindications
Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any component of the drug.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Generally, side effects are mild to moderate and temporary.
The most common adverse reactions are gastrointestinal symptoms including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
In case of a severe allergic reaction, pancreatitis, intestinal obstruction, consult a doctor immediately.

Warnings and Precautions
Caution should be exercised in dialysis patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, severe digestive disorders, ketoacidosis, in patients taking other antidiabetic drugs, and in patients with a history of pancreatitis.
The drug can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of food intake. The drug should be taken on the same day every week. The date of your injection is easier to remember by marking the day of your first injection on a calendar or on the box the pen came in.
Do not stop using Trulicity without first talking to your doctor.
Keep the drug out of the reach of children, in the refrigerator (2°C – 8°C). Do not freeze. Store in original packaging to protect from light.
Trulicity can be removed from the refrigerator and stored at room temperature no higher than 30°C for up to 14 days.
Do not use this medicine if the pen is damaged or the medicine is cloudy, discolored, or has visible particulate matter.
Use of other medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking or have recently taken, and any medicines you plan to take, including those sold without a prescription.
Dulaglutide delays gastric emptying and may affect the rate of absorption of concomitant oral medicinal products.
Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, suspect you are pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
The use of the drug in children and adolescents
Trulicity is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Driving and operating machines
Caution should be exercised when using Trulicity in combination with other antidiabetic agents due to the risk of hypoglycemia.
