Pharmacological action
Low-dose monophasic oral combined estrogen-progestogen contraceptive drug.
The contraceptive effect of combined oral contraceptive drugs (COCs) is based on the interaction of various factors, the most important of which are the suppression of ovulation, an increase in the viscosity of the cervical secretion and changes in the endometrium.
In women taking COCs, the menstrual cycle becomes more regular, painful menstrual-like bleeding is observed less often, the intensity and duration of bleeding decreases, resulting in a reduced risk of iron deficiency anemia. There is also evidence of a reduced risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer when taking COCs.
Warning: Always consult a doctor before using medications.
