The medicine is used in women of childbearing age to treat skin conditions such as B. acne, very oily skin, and excessive hair growth. Because of its contraceptive properties, it should only be given to you if your doctor decides that hormonal contraceptive treatment is appropriate.
You should only take the drug if your skin condition has not improved after using other acne treatments, including topical treatments and antibiotics.
dosage
Always take your medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
To achieve a therapeutic effect and the necessary contraceptive effect, the drug must be taken regularly.
The drug is taken in the same way as most combined oral contraceptives, so the dosage instructions are the same. Irregular use of the drug can lead to intermenstrual bleeding, the therapeutic effect is reduced, and the contraceptive effect is no longer guaranteed.
When and how to take the tablets?
Each blister contains 21 tablets. Each tablet has a day of the week on which it should be taken. One tablet should be taken every day, following the direction of the arrow. Empty daily fields allow you to check if you have taken your daily pill or not.
The daily tablet should always be taken at the same time.
The tablet should be swallowed whole without chewing and, if necessary, with a small amount of water. Take one tablet daily in the direction of the arrows until all 21 tablets have been taken.
Do not take any tablets for the next 7 days. Your menstrual period (withdrawal period) will begin within these 7 days, usually 2-3 days after your last pill.
Start a new blister on day 8, even if you are still on your period. This way you will always start a new blister pack on the same day of the week and the withdrawal bleed will also start around the same time each month.
The optimal duration of treatment depends on the severity of your disease on the one hand and your state of health on the other, and will be determined by your doctor. Treatment usually lasts several months. After the signs of the disease subside, it is recommended to continue taking the drug for at least 3-4 more cycles. If symptoms reappear weeks or months after stopping treatment, treatment can be restarted. If there is no or insufficient improvement in patients with severe acne after at least 6 months of treatment, or in patients with hirsutism after at least 12 months of treatment, the doctor should reconsider the treatment.
