The medicine contains the active substance finasteride.
It is intended for the treatment of men only.
The medicine is used to treat male pattern baldness (also known as androgenetic alopecia) in men aged 18 to 41 years. If you still have questions about male pattern hair loss after reading the instructions for use, consult a doctor.
Male pattern hair loss is common and is thought to be caused by a combination of heredity and a certain hormone known as hypoglycemia. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) causes. DHT contributes to a shortening of the hair growth period and thinning of hair.
In the scalp, the medicine specifically reduces DHT levels by inhibiting the enzyme (5-alpha reductase type II) that converts testosterone to DHT. Only men with mild to moderate hair loss, but not complete hair loss, can expect improvement from treatment with the medicine. In most men treated with the drug for 5 years, the progression of hair loss was slowed down, and in at least half of these men, hair growth improved.
The medicine should not be taken orally
if you are a woman (as this medicine is only intended for men, see the category “Pregnancy”). In clinical trials, the medicine has not been shown to be effective for women suffering from hair loss.

The recommended dose is 1 tablet per day.
Duration of use
Your doctor will help you determine whether you are responding to treatment with the medicine. It is important to take the medicine for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. It can only have a long-lasting effect if you take it consistently.
If you take more than you should
If you accidentally take too many tablets, contact your doctor immediately.
The medicine will not work better or faster if you take it several times a day.
If you forget to take it
Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop taking it
It may take 3 to 6 months of treatment to achieve the full effect.
It is important that you take the medicine for as long as your doctor has prescribed. If you stop taking the medicine, I expect you to lose the hair you got from the treatment again within 9 to 12 months.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them.
Side effects were usually temporary during treatment or disappeared after treatment was stopped.
Stop taking the medicine and call your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following: swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives (weeping itchy rash), difficulty breathing.
If you notice any changes in your breast tissue, such as a lump, tenderness, enlargement of the breast or discharge from the nipples, you should tell your doctor immediately. These signs may indicate a serious condition such as breast cancer.
